3 of the Best Keto Drinks You’ll Want to Try (With More Drink Ideas Too!)

One of the things I thought I was going to have to give up on Keto was my favorite drinks (alcoholic and coffee drinks to be honest) but of course, that was a completely unfounded fear as there are so many ways to make your favorite drink keto, even dairy-free if you need to. 

What kind of drink do you want?

If you are looking for a hot drink, I love my herbal teas and there are so many varieties today that you really can’t get bored. One of my favorite flavors is the Licorice Spice from Stash tea which tastes really sweet and tickles your taste buds.

If you’re in the mood for a coffee drink on a hot day, I love my Maca Latte Drink, which will satisfy any chocolate and coffee craving and is really great for you too. 

On this list, I’ve also included my famous bone broth drink, packed with nutrients and easy to make — this will be one you’ll want to incorporate in your keto diet to feel fantastic every day. You can also use this on intermittent fasting days as it will keep you full and is loaded with electrolytes to keep you going.

  6. Black coffee or coffee with full-fat cream
  7. Almond or coconut milk (watch for added sugars)

What are the best low-carb or no-carb alcoholic drinks?

You don’t have to completely give up alcohol to stay in ketosis but there are a few things that you must know first. Keep in mind, alcohol can have a stronger effect on you in ketosis, especially if you’ve been fasting. I recommend having one drink of water for every drink of alcohol you have to make sure you stay hydrated and keep your drinking to a minimum. 

Of course, there are plenty of low-carb options for alcohol, so you can indulge from time to time. Here are some recommendations: 

Dry Red Wines

Look for the XD, or D wines that have less than 6 grams of sugar per liter. Pinot Noir’s and Cabernet Sauvignons are good options. There are plenty of choices to have that have low-carb counts too. 

The Skinny Girl Cabernet Sauvignon is a decent bottle that can usually be found anywhere and is good for the rice. 

Dry White Wines

Look for a Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, there are plenty of low-carb white wines out there. I love the Ecco Domani 2015 Pinot Grigio, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy which is a bright, easy-drinking white wine with only 3 grams of carbs per serving. Cheers! 

Zero-Carb Liquor Options

Most liquor is zero carbs, so you have to be careful what you use as a mixer. I would also caution you on having too many vodka sodas if you are trying to lose weight on Keto because alcohol can lower your inhibitions (you might overindulge on foods you would normally avoid) and it can lower your metabolism too. But, enjoying a few drinks in moderation can be part of a healthy lifestyle, especially if you are in maintenance mode! 

When choosing drinks at a public bar, always ask for a “skinny” version of your favorite cocktail (without the added sugar) and you can’t go wrong with a gin and soda, or martini! 

Low-carb Beer

If you are not avoiding gluten, there are a few low-carb beer options that you can enjoy on Keto. One of my favorites is Corona Premier, which has 2.6 grams of carbs and tastes pretty close to the real thing! If you are looking for a gluten-free, low-carb beer, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Omission Ultimate Light but it may be hard to find. 

Whatever your drink preference is, know that you can still have a good time, a few drinks and stick to your Keto life!
